Yoga focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. It incorporates postures or asanas (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing.
Dozens of scientific trials have been published on yoga, suggesting it is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity, strength, flexibility and balance. Regular yoga practice is beneficial for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, lower back pain, stress and depression. The NHS even endorses it!
